Black Friday tends to be a great time to buy tech, and laptops are often on sale during sales. But there are so many deals (and “deals”) right now, where it can be difficult to know which ones are worth buying and which ones can be a little misleading. Luckily, I review laptops for a living, and I've narrowed down my favorite Black Friday laptop deals for you, whether you're looking for a productivity machine, a gaming buddy, or just a cheap little flip phone to get online.

The best thin and light laptops

Performance laptops will be some of the most common sales you'll see this Black Friday, especially if you're looking for thin and light premium devices.

Apple laptops

  • Almost everyone MacBook Air It sells, for example, starting at $749 for the latest model with the M4 chip. This deal will get you 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which should be enough for light use. Or you may encounter 24 GB RAM/512 GB internal storage MacBook Air for $1149.

  • If you need more power and a built-in fan, M5 MacBook Pro This Black Friday, prices start at $1,399, which will get you 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Eat there are many models of this laptop available you can get model with M4 Max chip48GB RAM and 1TB storage for $3,499. Don't worry – it's actually more powerful than the M5, even if it sounds weaker. Apple just hasn't released the M5 Max chip yet.

Windows laptops

  • If you prefer Windows, you can choose Microsoft's MacBook option with Microsoft Surface Laptop. Pricing starts at $750, although there are currently two models selling at that price: the 2024 model and the 2024 model. 2025 one. I actually chose the 2024 model because it's almost identical, but the processor has slightly more cores. By the way, this laptop is equipped with a Snapdragon X Plus chip, a touch screen, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal memory. This chip is actually somewhat unique compared to most other Windows laptops in that it's built on mobile architecture, which means it sacrifices a little in program compatibility but makes up for it in battery life.

  • Finally, if you want a more traditional Windows laptop, Dell 14 Plus it's a reliable choice. It costs $799 by default and comes with a robust Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, along with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. There are also a variety of configuration options, although the discounts for each vary.

Best Gaming Laptops

Black Friday deals on gaming laptops are a little less common, mainly because there are so many options that you can't necessarily expect the one you want to go on sale or the ones with the most attractive specs. However, this Black Friday I found some attractive options at different price points.

  • Starting from the lower end of the spectrum, Lenovo LOQwhich sells for $650 at Best Buy. The package includes an entry-level RTX 5050 graphics card, a fairly powerful Intel Core i5-13450HX chip, and standard budget gaming equipment: 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal memory. The screen also has a 1920 x 1080 resolution, but given that it's more intended for light gaming, that shouldn't be an issue. This is a good choice if you mainly play small indie games or competitive games such as Fortnitewhich are generally optimized for users of all types of machines.

  • If you want a more average option, try Asus TUF Gaming A16which at Best Buy is $1,200. This will get you an AMD Ryzen 9 chip, an RTX 5070 GPU, 32GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and a 1920 x 1200 resolution screen. It should support most AAA games, provided you're willing to play around with the settings of some of the more demanding games.

  • Finally, if you want to splurge a little, there are MSI Vector 16 HX AI 400 for $1,900 at Best Buy. All rants aside, this is actually one of the cheapest ways to get a high-end RTX 5080 laptop this Black Friday. It features an Intel Core Ultra 9-275HX chip, RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. Yes, that amount of RAM is technically a little less than on the TUF, but the screen has a higher resolution of 2560 x 1600, and 16GB should still be enough to run almost any game when combined with the rest of this machine's specs.

Best Budget Laptops

Finally, you can also find an inexpensive laptop if all you need is a reliable computer that you can use for light work and browsing the Internet. Although I already wrote about this Why You Should Be Skeptical of Cheap Laptops During Black FridayThere are still budget cars that are worth buying. (Most of these are Chromebooks, but I have at least one Windows option for you.)

What are your thoughts so far?

  • Let's start with the general option, which is suitable for almost everyone, and costs $300. Chromebook Acer Plus 515. It comes with an Intel Core i3-1305U chip, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. These modest specs are enough to qualify the Chromebook Plus for review. Unlocks several additional AI featuresand that should be sufficient for the web applications that Chromebooks specialize in.

  • If you want your Chromebook to double as a tablet, you can choose instead Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3iwhich is $282. You'll lose those minor Chromebook Plus AI bonuses, but you'll gain the ability to convert the screen between laptop mode and tablet mode. It's also slightly weaker than the Intel Pentium N6000-powered Chromebook Plus 515, but its 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage mean it's still capable of handling web tasks.

  • Finally, if you want a budget Windows laptop, StackSocial costs $275. Dell Latitude 7410 deal with surprisingly good. With an Intel Core i5-10310U processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage, you get decent processing power for the price, even if the chip is a bit dated. Plus, you'll get a digital code for Microsoft Office Pro 2021. The catch is that it's refurbished, but you can't find a better deal for a Windows computer under $300.
