1895: Foot of snow fell in two days in the Chicago area worst November snowstorm on the recording.
November's second-largest snowfall fell 11.2 inches snow at O'Hare International Airport, the city's official video recording location, in 2015.

1985: Chicago White Sox player Ozzie Guillen was named American League Rookie of the Year.
“Guillén, who batted .273 and set a club record for fewest errors in a season (12), scored 111 runs, nearly twice as many as Ted Higuera, the left-handed pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers,” reported Jerome Holtzman of the Tribune.
Six White Sox players Winners of this award include: Luis Aparicio (1956), Gary Peters (1963), Tommy Agee (1966), Ron Kittle (1983), Guillen and Jose Abreu (2014).

1987: Chicago Mayor Harold Washington died of a heart attack while sitting at his desk just nine months later. winning re-election for a second term. He was pronounced dead at 1:36 p.m.

Upon hearing of Washington's death, one of the mourners at Daly Plaza began to cry: “He's not finished.” In the days that followed, the city came together as never before during his lifetime.

2019: The indictment was brought against Outcome Health co-founders Shradha Agarwal and Rishi Shah, who accused the couple of fraudulently of illegally obtaining $487.5 million in funding and billing clients millions of dollars for ads that were never run.
Jury convicted the couple of fraud in April 2023, along with a third former executive. The jury found Brad Purdy, the company's former chief operating officer and chief financial officer, guilty of 13 of 15 counts.
Shah was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison in June 2024 by U.S. District Judge Thomas Durkin, who said during sentencing, “I believe a lot of this was driven by greed.” Agarwal was sentenced to three years in a boarding school.
