Prep basketball: Windward’s Davey Harris makes a statement in debut

Windward's Davey Harris finally scored his first high school basketball points Monday night after waiting two seasons to recover from a knee injury. He scored 21 points in a 66-51 win over Knight in Chaminade.

At 6-foot-4, Harris is not your average junior. Coach DJ Gay said Harris received 10 scholarship offers after his summer performances alone, and recruiters saw a hint of his potential. He is the younger brother of former Windward standout JJ Harris, a Loyola Marymount commit.

Harris said he feels good and hopes to be 100% by the end of this season. Amare Larane scored 19 points for Knight.
