The brand new Giantbomb.com is just around the corner, and here's everything you need to know about its launch, some important information, and a little about expectations.
We are still on our way to switching over to the new site. Saturday, December 6, 2025. To do this, we will need to freeze the legacy site for the entire week leading up to this date. From Monday, December 1st to Friday, December 5th..
So what does this mean? This means that we will have to temporarily disable any user editing so that we can take a “snapshot” of this data and transfer it to the new site. We will still be producing content this week.
You will also have to agree to the site's terms and conditions in order to be able to manage your user account on the new site. If you do not consent, the data will not disappear, you will simply lose the ability to manage it.

Now let's talk a little about expectations from the new site. It can be a little bumpy behind the gate.. This project has been a colossal undertaking, and while we're very pleased with how things have gone so far, we just want to prepare everyone for a few potential oddities here and there.
Here's what will be ready to launch:
- Videos and native video player, including Watch Later playlists.
- Podcasts and audio player, as well as playlists with the option to “listen later”
- Live broadcast and chat
- Complete catalog of videos, podcasts and shows
- Premium RSS Feeds
- Improved broadcast calendar
- Improved management of premium submarines.
- User articles (formerly blogs)
- User reviews (only view first)
- User lists (only view for starters)
- New features of The Bomb 12
What won't be ready
- Editing/creating user reviews
- Editing/creating a user list
- Forum email notifications (and all notifications from the site in general)
- Download video/audio directly from the site (coming soon to premium members)
Limited functionality
- Vicky
- Many pages will be viewable, but editing and creation will take some time as the community works together on these features.
- All data will be there
- Improved functionality and features that will be gradually improved over the coming months.

What is newly built?
- User review and article Creation – all legacy content will be available and viewable, but creating new ones will be premium features.
- This helps us reduce our liability for the site's handling of user-generated content (just trust us on this issue).
- To be clear, all old/outdated content will be moved to the new site, but only NEW content creation will be closed.
- Downloading video/audio directly from the site
Advertisements
Non-premium members have always been shown ads on Giantbomb.com, and we will need to continue to do so to serve as a support mechanism. We have redesigned the way advertising is displayed on the new site and believe it is presented much better. We also wanted to be able to offer certain types of custom ad insertion for our partners who need this integration, so we were very mindful of how this could potentially impact the site's browsing experience. The beauty of this is that we decide who we want to work with and you will never see a takeover campaign that we haven't signed up for in advance. Please also keep in mind that Google AdSense is a dynamic advertising network, so we do not control what is displayed in these modules, but your browsing history.
