SUV Can’t Afford Both Ice-T and Kelli Giddish

Even shows that have been running for almost 30 years have to consider their budgets. Ice-T explained why Law & Order: SVU character, Sgt. Fin didn't appear much in Season 27, and he has no hard feelings about it. “[The show] brought Kelly [Giddish] came back and at the end of the day they couldn't keep both of us full-time budget-wise,” Ice-T shared with TMZ. “So they said: “Ice, we will come in and let you out this year”… I realized that everything is cool with me.” He confirms that he is not leaving the show, but is a little worried about season 28; It's unclear whether he's talking about his character or the series as a whole, but either way, he's not about to talk bad about his longest-running work just yet; Ice has the second longest tenure on the show after Mariska Hargitay. He says, “I've been on this show for 27 years. I'm not going to say anything bad about this show. They've taken care of me for so long.” Ice-T is grateful for the break as it gives him time to work on other projects and that fans are upset about his noticeable absence from the show. “What if I’m missing and no one cares?” he wondered. Giddish, who left the main team SUV in 2022, after 12 years on the series, he returned briefly for subsequent seasons before returning again this year. “I'm really excited about it.
