He is Coming adds real-time PvP, bringing direct player battles to the game

Challenge your friends in the game “He'll Come”

Horse with a hood and Chronocle have announced a major update to fantasy RPG He is Coming, introducing a real-time PvP mode that allows players to directly challenge each other. Until now, competition only existed through Kingmaker, a system in which powerful builds were uploaded to the cloud as ghost data. The new mode shifts gameplay towards live competition, giving players the opportunity to test their strategies against friends in intense one-on-one duels.

The format unfolds in a series of three to five stages. Both participants start with the same card seed, but their journeys will differ depending on the choices they make. Each player decides which direction to explore, which mobs to engage in battle with, and how to build their own structure from the loot collected along the way. Once the stage ends, the two runs collide in a head-to-head fight that replaces the usual PVE boss fights. The winner is determined on a best-of-five basis, and the first player to achieve three wins secures victory in the match.

The update is released during the active early access period for the game. Since its launch in July, He is Coming has sold more than 170,000 copies, reflecting the continued attention it attracts from strategy RPG fans.

He is Coming is available on PC via Steam Early Access for $19.99 USD, £17.99 GBP, 19.99 EUR or 1980.00 JPY. The 50% discount is currently valid until December 8, 2025. The game is also available through PC Game Pass, giving players another way to begin exploring its evolving content.
