Boys from Seventeen everyone was giggling and smiling as they performed their upbeat songs during the visit NPR Tiny Desk headquarters on Monday.
Backed by a full orchestra, five of the group's 13 members – Joshua, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino – serenaded the crowd, opening the performance with a rendition of “Super.”
“You guys are so hot. Wow!” – Seungkwan said.
“We didn't expect this response, you guys are amazing,” Vernon said before translating for Seungkwan, “We were expecting a more calm and quiet environment. You guys are amazing!”
The band continued with the ballad “Darl+ing,” swinging their arms as they performed over jazzy piano before 2022’s “World,” which they worked on harmonizing.
“This suits you!” Dino declared as they unveiled the sweet “To You.” The stars then continued to broadcast “HBD,” noting the crowd's reaction to NPR. (The band joked that they wanted to perform “Q&A” but couldn't because it had female vocals.)
The band continued with “SOS”, “Rock With You” and “Clap”. They ended their 30-minute concert with the songs “Hot” and “Very Nice.” Between songs, the band expressed their appreciation for NPR and their Tiny Desk series.
DK disappeared at the performance, having lost his voice a few days before the performance. according to NPR. The rest of the participants learned his parts on the fly.
Their new Tiny Desk appearance follows the release of the band's fifth album. Happy explosion daywhich they dropped at the end of May. The album features works by Pharrell and Timbaland. The group also recently joined PinkPantheress for a remix of her hit “Illegal”, while S.Coups and Mingyu released mini-album duet in September.
