Actor Kira's thigh —who famously starred in the films “My Own Private Idaho” and “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” has died.
His partner Delbert McBrideconfirmed to Variety that Cyrus passed away on Sunday. His close friend Michael Childersposted on Facebook, Cyrus died in a hospital in Palm Springs, California. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
The German-born actor had a long and illustrious career in Hollywood, spanning decades, with more than 250 roles from 1966 to 2025. His last role was that of Hans in The Secret Agent.
He was best known for his role as John Camp alongside Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. He also played another Hans in the film My Own Private Idaho. River Phoenix And Keanu Reeves.
Additionally, Kier has landed leading roles in several vampire films such as Blade, Modern Vampires, Shadow of the Vampire, and Dracula 3000. His other notable roles include Curly in Barb Wire, Lorenzini in The Adventures of Pinocchio, and a NASA psychologist in Armageddon.
Cinema was not Cyrus's only passion… He was also fond of pop songs, appearing in Madonnavideos for the songs “Erotica” and “Deeper and Deeper”. He also had cameo appearances in other music videos, including Korn's “Make Me Bad” and Eve And Gwen Stefani“Let me blow you up.”
Cyrus was 81 years old.
