SpaceX launches 28 Starlink satellites on new Falcon 9 rocket from California (video)

SpaceX unveiled its new Falcon 9 rocket into its fleet on Sunday (Nov. 23), launching 28 satellites into low-Earth orbit for its Starlink megaconstellation.

The launch from Space Launch Center 4 Vostok (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California took place on Sunday at 3:48 a.m. EST (08:48 GMT or 12:48 p.m. PST local time). The Starlink satellites were successfully deployed an hour and 19 minutes after the flight began.

Meanwhile, Falcon 9's first stage, Booster 1100 (B1100), made its first landing on the Of Course I Still Love You drone ship in the Pacific Ocean. The landing occurred approximately eight and a half minutes after the rocket took off, the flight page says. on the SpaceX website.

Starlink satellites (constellation 11-30) join the more than 9,000 satellites that make up the commercial broadband Internet network.

Sunday's launch was the second Starlink mission in as many days, following a flight from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on Saturday. This launch belonged to SpaceX. 150th Falcon 9 launch this year.
