Rachel Homan, Kerry Einarson and Caitlin Lowes improved to 2-0 at the 25th Canadian Curling Trials in Montana. on Sunday.
Ottawa's Homan, the two-time reigning Canadian and world women's champion, defeated Halifax's Christina Black 8-2 in eight ends in the first draw. Einarson of Gimli, Man., earned a 6-5 victory over Kate Cameron of St. Adolphus, Man., who had scored solo goals in each of the last four finishes.
Einarson is a four-time Canadian champion who finished second to Homan at this year's Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
Winnipeg's Lowes scored one in the 11th end for an 8-7 win over Edmonton's Selena Sturmay. In another bout, Corrine Brown of Kamloops, British Columbia beat Kayla Skrlik of Calgary 7-6.
In Sunday's men's match, St. John's Brad Gushue (NL) and Winnipeg's Matt Dunston improved to 2-0. Gushue beat Calgary's Kevin Coe 5-3, while Dunston edged Jordon McDonald, also of Winnipeg, 8-4.
Elsewhere, John Epping of Sudbury, Ont., defeated Mike McEwen of Saskatoon 9-5, while Brad Jacobs of Calgary, the reigning Canadian men's champion, scored two goals in the 11th end for a 6-4 victory over Ryan Clater of Saskatoon.
The winner of the men's and women's competitions will represent Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina, Italy.
