After starring in games such as Elden Ring, Baldur's Gate 3 and Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33Jennifer English is set to play her dream role in Soulframe.
Digital Extremes' upcoming MMO Soulframe is clearly hoping to be a great fantasy RPG, because if you look at the winners of the biggest fantasy RPG awards over the last five or so years, they have one thing in common. Latenna from Elden Ring, Shadowheart from Baldur's Gate 3, and Mael from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 are voiced by actress Jennifer English, who clearly brings good luck to game of the year winners.
Earlier this month English has been confirmed to vote for Alora.Empress of Eldveil in Soulframe. And from a conversation with GamesRadar+ on Golden Joystick 2025 AwardEnglish clearly thinks highly of the role: as soon as the role was mentioned, she exclaimed, “Oh my God, this is my dream role.”
English explained: “I play the fairy empress, and her morality is true to nature.” and while English wasn't allowed to spoil anything that hadn't already been confirmed about the character on stream, she added: “I have a bit of a Welsh accent and I'm loving it.” before praising the Digital Extremes team.
To be honest, not much is known about the character yet, but Soulframe official Twitter account released some concept art of the character, and to be honest, it's a really disgusting design created by someone who doesn't follow the game, with various insects integrated into the design.
Claire Obscure: Expedition 33 actor Verso prefers Mael's ending to his own “because I really like my performance in it” – “pick Mael's ending and you'll see why I won this award”
