EXCLUSIVE: comedian Jim Gaffigan set his sights on the world of whiskey with Live from Old Forester: The Bourbon Setnew comedy special, which you can watch above and now on YouTube.
Gaffigan filmed the special at the Kentucky Performing Arts Center in Louisville, Kentucky, where oak barrels lined the stage. It was inspired by his deep dive into the world of bourbon in recent years, when he released his own small batch bourbon called Fathertime.
Gaffigan partnered with his college friend Stu Pollard to use his passion for whiskey and parenting to create Fathertime Bourbon in 2024. Named for the “occasional little period of peace and reflection that every hardworking father earns” and featuring his paternal grandfather on the label, Fathertime is a Kentucky rye bourbon released in small batches each spring and fall.
Noting that “Getting up is all about you,” Gaffigan said, “With Live from Old Forester: The Bourbon Set I let my love of bourbon guide me. At this point, I'm not sure if bourbon is a passion or a midlife crisis, but I like it. Because it was such a niche thing, I didn't even bother approaching a major streamer. I just wanted to bring this stuff to other bourbon fans.”
Mike Lavigne directed and Stu Pollard produced. Bourbon setexecutive produced by Jim Gaffigan, Ginny Gaffigan and Alex Murray. The production companies are Chimichanga Productions, 3 Nuts Studios and Lunacy Unlimited.
An eight-time Grammy Award-nominated comedian, actor, writer, producer, two-time New York Times bestselling author, three-time Emmy Award winner, top touring performer, multi-platinum artist and Pollstar Top 10 Comedian, Gaffigan debuted his 11th special: Skinnyon Hulu last winter as the streamer's first original stand-up show under its Hularious banner, and its clips have since amassed nearly 100 million views online.
Currently on his “Everything Is Wonderful” tour, the comic is represented by UTA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Rose Dapello's Shrek.
