Having bought the PS5 Pro at launch last November, I was fairly confident that it would take a few years for the updated console to truly become a must-buy for the average consumer. For my money AC shadows has the most beautiful open world ever created in terms of pure graphical prowess. It's absolutely stunning at times on PS5 Pro, combining ray tracing with a solid 60 frames per second (FPS) and offering PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) as an additional option for players.
Full-time specialists
Going forward, I expect the PS5 Pro to become even more in demand as third-party games become more ambitious and Sony releases an impressive lineup of exclusives. Sarosspiritual successor Returnablehas already confirmed support for PS5 Pro.
Anyone who played Returnable on PS5 Pro knows how good Housemarque games can look on the updated hardware. Saros already looks incredibly detailed and rich, and I'm willing to bet that the PS5 Pro version will offer a bigger jump than we saw in Returnablewhich was developed before the release of Pro.
Then there is Marvel's Wolverinefrom Insomniac, the studio that still holds the crown for most best game for PS5 Pro execution. Spider-Man Marvel 2 remains the “killer app” for the PS5 Pro, with ray tracing perhaps the best showcase of the Pro's particular set of advanced features.
Marvel's Wolverine The game is expected to release in 2026, adding to the already amassed lineup of PS5 exclusives. If Insomniac shows the same level of care for the first release of Logan on PS5 Pro as it did for Spider-Man Marvel 2We're in for a real treat.
Incredible GTA 6 experience?
Finally, the neon elephant in the room: Grand Craft Auto 6. Rockstar is adamant that the highly anticipated game will release on the new date of November 19, 2026, and if it does, the PS5 Pro will surely be the best place to play it. GTA 6 currently only planned for consoles, i.e. Xbox Series X|S and PS5. Considering that PS5 Pro prices are currently lower than Xbox Series X, I highly recommend now as a good time to invest, especially if you want to play the best version GTA 6 at startup.
