This could be another example of a socialist shake-up in the Big Apple.
Readers may remember that just a day after winning the election, New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani told people who supported him and his free-everything program that he needed “support” in the form of donations to make what he promised actually happen. Well, now there's another socialist scam going on, and sadly, it involves free turkey for people who might otherwise go hungry this Thanksgiving, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14).

How exclusively reported By The NYPost AOC recently sent out an email to her supporters with what appears to be her annual appeal to help charities provide meals to families in need.

The report quoted an excerpt from the letter, which read:
“Thanksgiving is two weeks away…Can you contribute $5 today or anything else you can to help us bring the joy of the holiday season to homes throughout New York City this year?”
As recently as 2021, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez sent emails to New Yorkers urging them to give generously to community organizations to help buy turkey dinners; that same year it was reported that she “raised $33,589.64 for three local charities.” Since 2019, she has actually helped provide hundreds of turkeys, writes The NYPost.
Here's the problem: Generous people hoping to help someone on Thanksgiving 2025 got something more of a Halloween trick, according to The NY Post, as… “clicking on the donation link sends people directly to a fundraising page for a campaign run by ActBlue.”
And a message on the screen tells people it was “paid for by Congress Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.”
As mentioned above, in previous years, the Empire State congresswoman has directed people to charity sites to directly support those less fortunate. Understandably, most people would likely think the same thing is happening in Ocasio-Cortez's world this year.

Any moral person can see what I see; this baiting of Sandy is morally wrong. Since I don't play a lawyer in real life, I can't say whether this is a hype or an attempt to illegally finance an election campaign. Instead of clicking on any email appeal from AOC, people can go to The Salvation Army's Operation Thanksgiving page to show their support. In any case, I sincerely hope that someone at the Federal Election Commission (FEC) will look into what is going on with these “Indian” emails as soon as possible.
