Along with the video, he wrote: “Back in North Carolina!!! What a trip… There’s still so much left… THANKFUL for that last one!!” His message came before a game against the Charlotte Hornets in his home state of North Carolina.
Paul began his NBA career in 2005 when he was drafted fourth overall by the New Orleans Hornets after a successful stint at Wake Forest University.
He won Rookie of the Year honors in his first season in the big leagues…and that was just the beginning of many accolades to come. He was a 12-time All-Star, 11-time All-NBA selection and 9-time All-Defensive team selection.
He spent the first six years of his professional career with the Hornets before joining the Los Angeles Clippers for another six years. He then moved on to several teams, including the Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns… plus spent a year each with the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs.
He returned to the Clippers this season.
Notably, he's never won an NBA championship… but he still has a lot to be proud of. He ranks second all-time in assists and steals… and was voted one of the 75 greatest players in NBA history as part of the 2021 NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
