You Can Now Directly Import Apple Music Playlists to Spotify

If you've spent years creating playlists on Apple Music or another streaming service, you can now easily transfer your playlist to your Spotify library without having to start from scratch or pay for a third-party service. Playlist transfer is now available built into Spotify thanks to new integration with TuneMyMusicwhich makes it easy to sync, share, transfer and backup music across platforms.

To initiate a playlist transfer from Apple Music or another streaming service (YouTube Music, Amazon Music, SoundCloud, etc.), open the Spotify mobile app and tap Your library. Scroll down the page and click Import your music > Get startedand follow the onscreen instructions to connect to TuneMyMusic. You can choose which platform to stream music from, and your playlists will appear on Spotify. Your playlists will remain on the original platform as they are simply copied to Spotify. (This feature is currently available to users, so you may need to update your Spotify app.)

Data portability between music streamers was very limited, but things are getting better: TuneMyMusic was already compatible with Spotify, but users had to sign up for a free trial of the service and were limited to just 500 songs before they had to upgrade to a paid plan. (Other third-party playlist transfer tools include FreeYourMusic And Soundies.)

What are your thoughts so far?

Apple Music has music transfer function built into iOS and iPadOS (under Settings > Applications > Music), as well as the Apple Music app for Android and online. YouTube Music supports importing and exporting playlists, but requires a third-party service for platforms that do not allow direct transfer.
