Kendrick Lamar and the creators of “South Park” Trey Parker And Matt Stone are not yet ready to present their mystery comedy with live actors. Paramount has removed the trio's untitled feature film from its March 20 release date, delaying its theatrical release indefinitely as the project continues to be developed.
“It's true—we're moving (again). We're working hard to complete the film,” said a joint statement attributed to Stone and Parker's production banner Park County and Lamar's PGLang company.
The highly anticipated film has been pulled from Paramount's release calendar before. When the film was unveiled in 2024, it was supposed to be released on July 4, 2025, which clearly coincides with the Independence Day holiday. Three months later, the studio moved the date to March 20, 2026. Now, four months later, the film has been postponed again, this time without a new date.
As the lack of an official title suggests, details of Lamar, Parker and Stone's live collaboration are closely guarded. Neither the cast nor the logline have been revealed. What is known is that the screenplay for the film was written by comedian Vernon Chatman. Lamar, Parker and Stone are producing along with Dave Free for PGLang.
Lamar is looking forward to nine nominations at the 2026 Grammy Awards, topping the list of nominees for this year's awards with his hit hip-hop album “GNX” and single “Luther.” His single “Not Like Us” won two of the top three categories at the Grammy Awards last year. Meanwhile, Parker and Stone are continuing work on the 28th season of South Park, which satirizes Trump, airing new episodes every other Wednesday on Comedy Central.
