If you've been putting off visiting Funcom Dune: Awakeningthe game is currently free on any server until November 27th. And to encourage players to stay, Funcom is also offering a 25% discount until December 1st.
Players who take part in the free trial will be allowed to “taste the spices and explore the vast map of Hagga Basin in search of Fremen” for up to 10 hours during the trial period. Funcom also notes that this trial allows new players to play on any server in the world with existing players. Any progress made in research will carry over if players end up purchasing Dune: Awakening.
Last summer, Funcom shared information about Ambitious roadmap for Dune: Awakening free and paid DLC. The free Chapter 3 update will contain an updated ending, and there were no specific details about what will be included in Chapter 4. However, Funcom has already made some of the fan-requested changes to Awakening, including changes to the ending, improved player registration and loot in the deep desert, and a way to find or rescue lost vehicles. Chapter 3 will be released between January 2026 and March 2026, and Chapter 4 will be released between April 2026 and June 2026.
Paid DLC for 2026's Awakening, Raiders of the Broken Lands and The Water Wars, will release in the first and second quarters of 2026, respectively. The publisher didn't reveal much about Raiders of the Broken Lands, but did note that The Water Wars will take players to the polar caps of Arrakis during a war between the Water Shipper families.
Dune: Awakening will be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2026.
