Build megastructures in Astroneer
System Era has released Megatech, the second major DLC for the acclaimed space sandbox astronomer. Available today, this new expansion opens a new chapter for the game's large community of explorers, adding powerful tools that change the way players design, build and evolve their planetary operations. The launch also comes with a free update for all players and marks the arrival of its own version for PS5.
Megatech introduces large-scale construction projects that allow players to assemble impressive new structures that tie directly into existing systems. The DLC aims to expand creativity and encourage players to experiment with more ambitious projects that will transform their bases. This represents a significant step forward in the game's long-term commitment to exploration and discovery.
The DLC will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for $9.99. The release of Nintendo Switch is planned for the near future. Players who already own the PlayStation 4 version can upgrade to PlayStation 5 for free.
Megatech's features include the Orbital Platform, a massive structure that allows players to create their own asteroids and place them in orbit around any planet of their choice. The Biodome offers a new approach to growing alien flora through expandable modules that support seed collection and agricultural production. The museum provides a dedicated space to showcase the productivity of player bases, offering rewards and benefits in exchange for free resources, power, seeds and bytes.
In addition to the DLC, all Astroneer owners get access to a free update that adds new structures, new resources, and a number of quality of life improvements designed to improve the overall gameplay experience.
