Santa Claus Parade will hit the streets of the city center on Sunday, and combined with the accompanying 5K run, drivers and pedestrians should be prepared for plenty of detours and delays.

The 121st annual event will begin at 12:30 p.m., but preparations will begin hours before.
However, before Santa, Mrs. Claus, their sleigh and the rest of the floats make their way through town, there will be a 5-kilometer Holly Jolly Fun Run along the parade route, starting at 11:45 a.m.
Parade spectators are asked to ensure all personal items and children are cleared from the roadway by 11:30 a.m. to allow runners and walkers to complete the 5K.
The route starts at Christie Pits at 12:30 pm and ends approximately two and a half hours later at St. Lawrence Market.

Vehicles on the route will be evacuated
Toronto police are warning that towing of vehicles parked along the parade route will begin at 6 a.m. Sunday.
Roads are expected to reopen at 6pm Sunday.
Participants are encouraged to use public transportation, although another option is to park away from the parade route and walk to the event in rainy weather. Check TTS website for setting up the service because of the parade and the run.
The Weather Network says the forecast for Sunday will be a high of 8C, with rain and snow in the morning followed by partly sunny skies in the afternoon.
The parade will also be broadcast on CityTV.
