Digital creators and social media users are encouraged to register for the launch of NASA's Artemis II mission. The agency's SLS (Space Launch System) rocket will launch the Orion spacecraft from Launch Complex 39B at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The four astronauts on board will fly around the moon and return to Earth after about 10 days in space.

This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of this historic Artemis mission, which will lay the foundation for future Moon landings and manned missions to Mars.
The NASA social event will take place over two days, including launch day. Artemis II is scheduled to launch no later than April 2026, with potential capabilities available as early as February. A maximum of 50 digital creators will be selected to participate in this two-day event and will be given media-like access.
NASA Social participants will have the opportunity to:

- Learn directly from subject matter experts
- Meet other digital creators and social media users
- Spend time with NASA team members on social media.

NASA social registration for the Artemis II launch will open on this page on Wednesday, November 19th, and the application deadline is 5:00 pm EST on Monday, November 24th. All applications will be considered on an individual basis.
Do I need to have a social media account to register?
Yes. The event is designed for people who:
- Actively utilize multiple social media platforms and tools to disseminate information to unique audiences.
- Create new content with multimedia elements regularly.
- Have the potential to reach a large number of people using digital platforms.
- Reach a unique audience separate and distinct from traditional media and/or NASA audiences.
- Must have an established history of publishing content on social media.
- Have previous publications that are highly visible, respected and widely recognized.

How do I register?
Registration for this event opens on November 19th and closes at 5:00 pm EST on November 24th. Registration is for one person only (you) and is not transferable. Anyone wishing to participate must register separately. Each application will be considered individually.
Can I register if I am not a US citizen?
Yes, this event is open to everyone.
When will I know that I have been selected?
Once registration has been received and processed, an email will be sent to selected users with confirmation information and additional instructions. We expect to send out first notifications on Monday, December 8th, and waitlist notifications on Monday, December 15th.
What are NASA's social mandates?
All NASA social applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Selected individuals must demonstrate through the registration process that they meet specific eligibility criteria.

What are the registration requirements?
Registration signifies your intention to travel to NASA Kennedy and attend the two-day event in person. You are responsible for your own travel, lodging, meals and other amenities.

You will need to present PRESENT IDENTIFICATION Appropriate identification or valid U.S. passport PLUS one of the following:
Acceptable documents to accompany your federal or state ID:
- US passport
- Unexpired Employment Authorization Card (Form I-688A)
- An unexpired work authorization document issued by DHS containing a photograph (Form I-688B)
- A driver's license or identification card issued by a state or remote possession of the United States, provided that it contains a photograph or information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color and address.
- Identification issued by federal, state or local government agencies or organizations, as long as it contains a photograph or information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color and address.

For foreign citizens:

For legal resident aliens:
- Same items required for US citizens, plus:
- Permanent Resident Card or Alien Photo Registration Stub (Form I-551)

- Certificate of Foreign Birth issued by the Department of State (Form FS-545 or Form DS-1350)
The REAL ID Act was passed by Congress in 2005 and established minimum security standards for state-issued driver's licenses and identification cards.
All registrants must be at least 18 years old.
What if the launch date changes?
Hundreds of different factors can cause the planned launch date to change multiple times. The launch date will not be official until flight readiness reviews are completed. If the launch date changes prior to review, NASA may adjust the NASA Social date accordingly to coincide with the new target launch date and will notify registrants of any changes via email.
If the launch is delayed, participants will be invited to a later launch date. If the launch is delayed more than 72 hours, NASA's social event may be cancelled.
NASA Social members are responsible for any additional costs they incur due to any launch delay. We strongly encourage participants to arrange travel that is returnable and/or flexible.
What if I can't make it to Kennedy Space Center?
If you are unable to come to NASA Kennedy and attend in person, you should not register for NASA Social.
