We're a little late with today's posts, but I had to wait to get some reviews of yesterday's game. Overall we were very pleased with what we saw, considering we had one of the best players in the country on the bench and a lot of new guys.

Looking at the box score, the bench shortage is obvious, but that comes when everyone has to move up a position in the rotation. Not to mention, Self always seems to be a little more successful in a tight rotation.

Self also doesn't expect Peterson to be out for long. which is a good thing as the Jayhawks now head to Vegas to face Notre Dame and Syracuse. And barring that, UCONN will be next. It's just the beginning of the season here.

When Franklin was fired and almost immediately announced his intention to become coach in 2026, Virginia Tech became a natural landing spot for the 53-year-old. He spent most of his career in the mid-Atlantic region, serving as an assistant twice at Maryland, leading programs at Vanderbilt and Penn State, and even serving on the staff at James Madison in 1997.
