James Comer Drops an Eye-Opening Surprise on Hakeem Jeffries During House Debate on Epstein Legislation – RedState

The fact that a lot of stupid things happen regularly in the House of Representatives means that dull moments are rare. This is exactly how events unfolded last week between the vote to reopen the government and the Democratic vote. yada yadaing due to the release of Jeffrey Epstein's files.

Like RedState reported The House did previously vote Tuesday to release the files by a vote of 427 to 1, with Rep. Clay Higgins (LA-03) the lone dissenter. Senate passed it by unanimous consent.

Additionally, Rep. Jamie Raskin (MD-08) defended Stacey Plaskett's (D-VI) correspondence with convicted sexual predator Epstein during a 2019 congressional hearing, suggesting that Epstein was simply a random member of her family at the time.

“They prosecuted a member of the Democratic Party for I receive a phone call from her constituent Jeffrey Epstein in the midst of the hearing. And, of course, I don’t think there’s any rule here against answering the phone at a hearing,” Raskin said insultingly.

While this was as pathetic as it gets, it was interesting to learn about Hakeem Jeffries' (NY-08) connection to Epstein during the Epstein Act debate.

According to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (KY-01), Epstein was apparently approached by a Democratic consulting firm in 2013 to appear at a campaign fundraiser for Jeffries, also known as the “Brooklyn Barack,” for a possible private meeting. This was five years after Epstein's 2008 speech. conviction for sexual offenses:

And, unsurprisingly, Democrats have remained silent about their colleague's coordination with Epstein.

Another email shows that Democratic fundraisers invited Epstein to an event or private meeting with Hakeem Jeffries as part of their efforts to win the majority in 2013.

So Hakeem Jeffries' campaign was asking Jeffrey Epstein for money. This is what we found in the latest package of documents.

Look:

This led Senator Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) to wonder where Epstein and Jeffries met:

The House Democratic Minority Leader has said repeatedly in recent weeks that “the American people simply deserve the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth” about what's in the files, and yet…

In my opinion, this is one of those “be careful what you wish for” moments that Democrats are probably already regretting, and there will undoubtedly be more to come on this front. Stay tuned.
