NFL news: Gracie Hunt talks Super Bowl halftime show

Gracie Hunt, daughter Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt applauded Erica Kirk and Turning Point USA for trying to create their own halftime show to counter Bad Bunny.

The Grammy Award winner was announced as part of the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year, sparking outrage among some over his criticism of U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.

Hunt appeared on Fox News Channel. “The Will Kane Show” and said Kirk did a great job guiding the Young American Women and she was “definitely” looking forward to the Turning Point USA alternative halftime show.

“I have so much respect for Erica for everything she has done, especially bringing the halftime show to America. You know, children are young, they are impressionable. Young women, young men and everyone else, they just need someone to look up to,” Hunt said.

“As someone who doesn't yet have young children of her own, I can't imagine how difficult this is to deal with. But I think she's done an incredible job leading Turning Point, leading young women, and really leading an alternative for young Americans. Football is becoming a global sport, but at its core it is an American sport built around family.

“When my grandfather called the Super Bowl, he wanted children and families of all ages to be able to come together and watch it, and he truly believed that game It should be paramount that football is about appeal, and that it doesn't need to compromise its character or rely on cheap appeal to attract an audience, especially when such an approach could alienate a large proportion of fans.

“The NFL honors women, the military, this country honors communities. So I think whoever they choose to perform at halftime needs to more accurately reflect those values. So, I respect Erica.”

Hunt said she'd like to see Jason's Side or even Taylor Swift taking the stage for a halftime performance in the future.

The NFL stood by its decision to have Bad Bunny perform at the Super Bowl at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Additionally, Hunt said she is “thrilled” by the religious revival among women in the United States.

“I think our generation gets a bad rap, but I'm so excited about this movement that I'm seeing among this younger generation,” she said. “They crave a deeper “why.” They are hungry for Jesus. November is global Bible month, and Bible sales are on the rise.

“And I'm just seeing a massive resurgence in the baptism of young women and young men on college campuses. share the gospel and a desire to make this world a better place.”
