To quickly bring you up to speed, 21-year-old Millie and 23-year-old Jake received married last year after about three years of dating. And back in August, the couple announced that they had welcomed their first child together through adoption.
Millie opened up about becoming a mum in a follow-up interview with British Vogue, where she said of her daughter, “She's already taught us a lot. Perspective is a huge thing. The little things in life are so much more valuable. Our days are filled with lots of hugs, laughter and love. It's just endless joy.” Interestingly, Millie also said that she and Jake divide parenting responsibilities equallyand that they are “50/50 on everything.” She added, “That's why I'm so grateful to have partnered with him in this life… He's just the most amazing father.”
And that's why people were stunned video it showed Millie alone making her way through a crowd of paparazzi, trying to enter the building while clutching their baby. After they got out of the car, Jake stood to the side and motioned for his wife and daughter to go ahead of him while he lingered back. Millie was forced to warn one of the dads to stay away from her and her daughter as Jake walked behind her.
Elsewhere in the clip, Millie's friend Noah Schnapp could be seen carrying a large baby bag as he followed Millie and Jake into the building while Jake was left empty-handed. Separate photos Images have also emerged of Millie struggling to carry three large bags and the baby in her car seat, while Jake carries one backpack and pushes an empty stroller base.
Needless to say, the whole thing raised eyebrows, with many wondering why Jake not only didn't help, but was left so far behind Millie and their little girl in the video. One viral X-post read: “Noah carried her bag and her husband just smiled at the paparazzi. It's a shame that your friend does more for you than your husband.”
Neither Millie nor Jake have publicly acknowledged any discussion, but the photos Millie decided to include in a recent Instagram dump have reignited the conversation. Millie shared carousel with her 64.9 million followers earlier this week, and the main photo shows her at a screening of the series' final season. Stranger Things.
Other photos include mirror selfie, photography Stranger Things billboard, her and Noah in the backseat of a car and a selfie with Jake in the mirror.
But it was the last two images that ultimately drove the discussion: in the penultimate image, Millie looks slightly frazzled and tired as she pushes a pram:
And the one right after Jake is shown lying in an adult-sized lounge chair without the baby:
