First trailer for DisneyThe live-action Moana movie is out and it looks just as magical as the original animated film.
In the short clip, which can be viewed below, we hear newcomer Katherine Lagaaia sing “I Am Moana (The Song of the Ancestors)” over a montage of action, dancing and dazzling views of the island – and yes, we also get our first look at the Hei Hei rooster. Upon first viewing, you might be wondering where Dwayne Johnson's Maui is… but he's right there at the very end of the trailer, with his magical fishhook in tow.
In the live-action version, Thomas Kail, known as the director of the Broadway play “Hamilton,” is directing the film from a script by Jared Bush (“Zootopia”) and Dana LeDoux Miller (“Moana 2”). The cast includes John Toohey as Chief Toohey, Frankie Adams as Sina and Rena Owen as Gramma Tal.
