After more than a decade of working on the series, Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer say they've learned a lot over the past four seasons of the hit sci-fi series and hope they've used all their experience to make the final season the best one yet.
“We're constantly learning what works and what doesn't and applying those lessons or trying to apply those lessons into the next season,” Matt Duffer tells GamesRadar+. “So hopefully we've learned all the lessons we can and season five will be perfect and the fans won't have any problems. I think the chances of this happening are 0.5%.”
Regardless of where the Duffer Brothers decide to take the story, one thing is for sure: Season 5 will firmly conclude the Hawkins story as we know it. “It was important for us to resolve all the storylines and tie up all the loose ends,” confirmed by Matt Duffer on GamesRadar+. The duo also revealed SFX magazine What “Book Closed” in Eleven and Company storylinesand future live-action spin-off shows will not reference them.
The fifth season takes place in 1987. In season five, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Will (Noah Schnapp), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and the rest of Hawkins' heroes come together as they have one common goal: to destroy Vecna. However, with the city placed under military quarantine, forcing Eleven into hiding, the gang's return to the Upside Down has become more impossible than ever.
The first volume of Stranger Things season five will be released on Netflix on November 26, the second volume on December 25, and the finale on December 31, 2025. To find out more, check out our selections for best shows on Netflix And best movies on Netflix.
