Marvel's first family wasn't the first Disney Plus for a long time. Fantastic Four: First Steps recently debuted on the service but was pushed aside by another highly anticipated reboot about a family with strange powers.
It would be Freaky FridayOf course, this is the sequel to Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan's body-swap misadventure, which was 22 years in the making. On November 12, the film became the most-watched movie on the platform the very next day, according to Disney Plus. FlixPatroland held this position until the end of the weekend.
It's a difficult combination, even with the combined charm of Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. In Freaky Friday, not only are Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) involved in more body-swap tomfoolery, but Anna's daughter Harper (Julia Butters) and stepdaughter Lily (Sophia Hammons) are also thrown into the mix.
Disaster and merriment ensues! Freaky Friday grossed over $153 million, showcasing audiences' nostalgia and interest in the 2003 film and the concept as a whole.
Given these numbers, I wouldn't be surprised if Freaky Friday comes before the looting. Disney and Marvel Studios crossover should be considered for maximum streaming performance. It will do Avengers: Secret Wars And Avatar: Fire and Ash look like child's play.
