Earlier this month, Sony and Nintendo The Feature film “The Legend of Zelda” Filming began in New Zealand. It was only a matter of time before clips from the film were released, and now it seems that the first images may show the Severance actress playing Impa.
In a short video posted on Instagram, actress Bo Bragason, as Princess Zelda, meets with the actress, who appears to be playing Impa. The other actress in question has been identified by fans as Dichen Lachman, known for her role as Miss Casey in the TV series Severance. Lachman has extensive experience working on genre films and television shows, including Altered Carbon, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Supergirl, The 100 and Jurassic World. However, these are just rumors at the moment as there has been no official casting announcement for the Zelda movie, other than the two main characters.
Impa has been a supporting character since the very first Legend of Zelda game, although her role has been very different. She was portrayed as Princess Zelda's protector or even bodyguard. A much younger version of the Impa is introduced in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
This leaked footage has led some fans to speculate that the film will be adapted. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It's also possible that the film will be based on several different eras of Zelda for a simplified adaptation. But for now we can only speculate.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will play Link in the film. his role was revealed in July this year along with the casting of Bragason as Zelda. For now, they are the only actors officially confirmed by Nintendo and Sony Pictures, which is producing the film, as well as Nintendo and Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes director Wes Ball will direct the film from a script by Pokemon: Detective Pikachu writer Derek Connolly.
In June Nintendo pushed back the release from the movie The Legend of Zelda. The current release date is May 7, 2027.
