Name a big fantasy RPG that's come out in the last few years, and chances are you'll hear Jennifer English doing some voice work somewhere. After the game Baldur's Gate 3Shadowheart from Shadowheart, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's Maelle and Elden Ring's Latenna, a standout voice actor, returns in another fantasy role-playing game.
Digital Extremes, the studio behind the surprisingly long-running sci-fi MMO Warframe, is moving into the fantasy realm with its upcoming MMO Soulframe of the same name. And just yesterday, the company held another dev stream to announce that English will be voicing Alora, the Empress of Eldveil.
We don't know much about this Empress yet, but the recently released part concept art shows off her stunning outfit, complete with a headcrab hat and winged cape. We'll have to wait and see if she's a force for good or evil, but with such a fancy outfit, I have no choice but to Stan.
Elsewhere, Digital Extremes are diving into the twelfth update for the Soulframe playtest, which will be released in two weeks and will include things like improved tutorials, a new greatsword, and a fast travel system. Last we heard, developers wasn't sure when the game would be ready for proper startup.
