Two points for Michael Hage in crushing win over Penn State

Michael Hage and the University of Michigan Wolverines were in action this Friday night.

On this occasion they met with Gavin McKenna and the University of Pennsylvania. Two big teams crossed swords (Michigan was second in the division standings going into the game and Penn State was third) and we were in for an exciting matchup.

It was interesting, but only on one side.

Penn State fans (and the team) clearly didn't like the game.

The Wolverines defeated the Nittany Lions. Final score: 7-1.

The video above shows Michael Hage's second point of the game on Adam Valentini's goal.

The one many people watched closely in this game was obviously Hage, as well as Penn State's Gavin McKenna. Without breaking everything, Hage was still his team's leading scorer (along with five other players), with two points (two assists).

As for Gavin McKenna, he showed a difference of minus 4 and was also removed from the protocol…

Here's the Habs prospect's first point of the game on a goal by Will Horcoff (son of Sean Horcoff).

Hage was very close to scoring three points. The right-hander (who had returned to center after trying out on the wing) missed a golden opportunity and was clearly angry with himself for missing it.

Judging by the final score, he couldn't blame himself anymore.

Hage finished the game with a plus-1 margin, which might seem surprising in such a convincing victory. However, his second assist of the game came on the power play.

After this game, the Habs prospect now has 19 points in 13 games, which ranks second in the entire NCAA (excluding other scores of the night).

In short, everything is going smoothly for Hage, which is very encouraging for the Habs, as there is high hope that he will (eventually) become a big-name second-line center.

Together, he and Ivan Demidov would certainly have caused great harm.

After a while

– After Chris Johnston, Arpon Basu confirms the Habs have expressed interest in David Kampf.

– An excellent plateau for a defender.

– Juuse Saros would fill a big hole in Edmonton’s goal.

“He loves Michigan goals.”

– It’s a shame that there were no penalties in the series…
