NEW YORK — NEW YORK (AP) — Sarah Jessica Parker moves from being the one giving out prizes to being the one receiving them.
Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Award winner and judge Booker Prize 2025 — was named Thursday as the recipient Carol Burnett Award for her “outstanding contributions to television on and off screen.”
“Sarah Jessica Parker's career embodies the very spirit of the Carol Burnett Awards,” Helen Hoehn, president of the Golden Globe Awards, said in a statement. “Her trailblazing influence on television and her dedication to storytelling on stage and screen have left an indelible mark on popular culture. We are honored to recognize her outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry.”
The award will be presented during the new annual primetime special, “Golden Eve,” honoring recipients of both the Carol Burnett Award and this year's Cecil B. DeMille Award. Helen Mirren. The special will air January 8th on CBS and Paramount+.
The main Golden Globes ceremony will take place on January 11 and will be hosted by Nikki Glaser for the second time.
Parker is perhaps best known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in the HBO series Sex and the City and its sequel Just Like That. Her films include Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2, Failed Launch, The First Wives Club, Ed Wood and Mars Attacks!
The Carol Burnett Award was created in 2019 and is given to a recipient who has “made an outstanding contribution to television on or off screen.” Past recipients include Ted DansonNorman Lear, Ryan Murphy and Ellen DeGeneres. The first was Burnett herself.
