One runner just completed the craziest marathon of his life… and the finish line came thanks to… Donald Trumpwho swooped in with a surprise presidential pardon after a record-breaking run on the Grand Teton Trail somehow turned into a federal fiasco.
Michelino Sunseri stopped by TMZ Live on Thursday and reflected on the saga… telling us how last year he hiked Wyoming's Grand Teton Trail – a historic trail that's been around since the '30s leading to a 13,775-foot summit – in an attempt to break the speed record… when one switchback somehow turned him into Public Enemy No. 1 and the record holders reported to the feds.
Watch the clip because Michelino lays out the absurdity… describing how more than 20 feds were present during his two-day trial, some wearing bulletproof vests and carrying machine guns. The lawyer who came to support his team, a prosecutor who had spent years prosecuting real murderers and rapists, told him that he had never seen such a circus!
Michelino was found guilty of a Class B misdemeanor and was supposed to receive community service… before this whole saga somehow came to Trump's attention.
And just like that, things finally went as usual – Michelino didn’t even break a sweat. But he has there was time to think about how this story made its way down the chain to Trump… so watch our clip to find out why!
