James Van Der Beek breaks up with some of his Dawson Creek memorabilia among him Cancer combat.
The 48-year-old actor, who battled stage 3 colorectal cancer, is selling several items from the teen drama. Dawson Creek and film Varsity Blues in partnership with auction site Propstore, where interested buyers can place their bids.
“I've been holding onto these treasures for years, waiting for the right moment to do something with them, and with all the recent twists and turns life has thrown at me lately, it's clear that the time has come,” Van Der Beek said in a statement to Propstore.
“And while I feel a little nostalgic when I part with these items, I am pleased to be able to offer them through the Propstore auction to share with those who have supported my work over the years.”

All proceeds from items sold will go to Van Der Beek to help “with the financial costs of fighting cancer.” People reports.
Van Der Beek first revealed that he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in an interview with People magazine last November.
“I have colorectal cancer. I am dealing with this diagnosis privately and taking steps to resolve it with the support of my wonderful family,” the star told the publication. “There is reason for optimism and I feel good.”
The actor did not provide details about his diagnosis, but shared a post on Instagram: “I am in good condition and I feel strong“
“I've been doing this privately so far, getting treatment and monitoring my health more closely than ever before,” he continued on Instagram. “It was a good start, and I'll tell you more when I'm ready.”
In his post, he said he decided to make the announcement earlier than planned, explaining that while he wanted to talk about it “in detail” with People, another publication was going to tell a story.
“This plan had to change early this morning when I was informed that a tabloid was about to publish the news,” Van der Beek wrote.
An increase in the number of young people Colorectal cancer is being diagnosed in Canada and the United States, although the overall number of cases and deaths has decreased in recent years.
One in five cases diagnosed in 2019 were in people under age 55, nearly double the 11 percent rate in 1995, according to a 2023 American Cancer Society study.
