Feel the horror in Junji Ito Maniac: Infinite Prison
SOFTSTAR ENTERTAINMENT INC. has released a new first-person horror game, Junji Ito Maniac: An Infinite Gaol, which is now available worldwide on Steam starting November 11th. Inspired by the Netflix film Junji Ito Maniac: Japan Tales of the Macabre, the game brings to life the horror master's signature sense of dread and surreal horror. Players are plunged into a nightmare world from which it is impossible to escape. To celebrate the release, the game is available with a 10% discount for a limited time.
Additionally, the new trailer sets the tone by showing a sprawling Western-style mansion engulfed in darkness and disarray. The setting is a labyrinth of flickering lights, eerie shadows and unsettling presences. Familiar characters from the works of Junji Ito look exciting, and the game's sound design and lighting enhance the suffocating atmosphere, creating a truly immersive horror experience. You can check it out right below.
Players take on the role of Yota Takahashi, a university student who wakes up in a mansion with no memory and only a broken phone for clues. Exploration turns into madness as Iota encounters deadly traps, disturbing sculptures, and iconic horrors. This includes the iconic headless statue and the mysterious Tomi character. Each discovery brings him closer to the truth, only to discover that the horror itself may be endless.
The game features multiple routes and endings, allowing players to shape their journey through choice and exploration. The developers spent significant time refining the visual effects, motion capture, and environmental details to ensure that every scene exudes unease.
Junji Ito Maniac: Infinite Prison combines careful design and psychological tension. His goal is to convey the true essence of Junji Ito's horror. The game is now available on Steam with a temporary 10% discount for those ready to enter its twisted realm.
