Highway Noir Drives Its Way to Steam in Early 2026

Enter into dangerous contracts on the Noir Highway

British indie developer Archangel Software has announced its second project, Highway Noir, which is scheduled to launch in early 2026 for PC via Steam. The game combines the thrill of high-speed driving with a striking neo-noir atmosphere. It promises to present an amazing story steeped in betrayal, revenge and moral suspense.

Players step into the role of a former top driver of the Serious Crime Investigation Agency, who has now turned into a freelance driver for the city's underworld. After being framed for failing a mission, you now take on dangerous contracts, race through rain-soaked streets, and evade the law. At the same time, carrying out deliveries that blur the line between survival and crime. As each mission plunges you deeper into chaos and corruption, a mysterious figure known only as Merlin promises the chance to strike back at those who betrayed you.

Highway Noir is set in a neon-lit world and offers a combination of intense chases and cinematic storytelling. Players can navigate a world where the color itself denotes danger or opportunity, upgrade vehicles between missions, and choose whether to chase revenge or focus on quick-play modes such as Endless Run, Pursuit, and Escape. The experience is enhanced by the original soundtrack from independent composers. It also has accessibility features such as audio cues, subtitles, voice assistance, and adjustable game speed.

Reflecting on the project, developer Mike Parry said: “I want to immerse the player in an action car chase. But how do I get them there? My answer is to immerse them in a revenge thriller at the same time.”

Highway Noir promises to deliver a thrilling blend of story and speed, where every contract, every chase and every decision brings players closer to the truth.
