FX announced today that FX, Hulu and Disney+ series Alien: Earth has been renewed for a second season as part of a new deal that FX and Disney Entertainment Television struck with showrunner Noah Hawley.
Filming for the second season of Alien: Earth will begin in London in 2026.
“We have been honored to work with Noah for over a decade on some of FX’s best and biggest shows, and we are thrilled to extend our partnership into the future,” FX Chairman John Landgraf said in a statement.
“Noah never fails to amaze us with truly original stories, and his unique ability to bring them to vibrant life as a director, producer and writer makes him outstanding. We can't wait to get to work on the next season of Alien: Earth, as well as some equally exciting future projects in advanced development.”
“I am thrilled that this expanded agreement opens the door to new opportunities for all of Disney Entertainment Television,” Hawley said. “FX has always championed bold, character-driven storytelling. From the very beginning of Fargo, they encouraged me to take creative risks and follow the story wherever it led. I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue exploring the world of Alien: Earth with our partners, cast and crew as we begin the next chapter.”
Back in September Hawley said“Obviously, none of us—Disney or I—want one more day longer than necessary for Season 2 to air successfully. Everyone wants to make this decision correctly. But we also want to be ready to go. I definitely know where I'm going. The moment they fire the starting pistol, I will leave the block.”
