latest version of Google Pixel drop is here, bringing more AI features to Pixel devices, a new fraud prevention tool, and a new Evil: For good themed package.
Artificial Intelligence Features
For starters, Google has added AI-powered notification summaries to make longer texts easier to understand in a hurry. Google notes that this is ideal for things like group chats, quick communication in group chats, etc. This feature will also be useful for quickly browsing work chat and can be useful for users with a busy career and a lot of networks.
Google also continues to add AI features related to photos, including personalized editing and a new remix feature. Personalized edits will focus on making timely changes to group photos and scanning other images of the same person to apply them. Google notes that this feature is great for situations where someone forgets to take off their hat, blinks at the wrong time, or is wearing sunglasses and everyone else doesn't.
The new remix feature, located in Messages, uses Google's Gemini AI Nano Banana or Gemini's image generation and editing model to apply image changes. Google also notes that users on any mobile device (including group chats) can see photo remixes, and other Google Messages users can remix the same image without leaving the app.
There is also another layer of fraud protection to help prevent fraud. According to the tech giant, any Pixel 6 and later can now alert you to potential fraud when you receive chat notifications from popular apps. Similar to what Google uses for phone calls, the device will now display a “Probably Scam” warning along with a notification if the message seems suspicious. Google also offers Gemini for your phone calls: Gemini Nano can now record calls, take notes, and create a transcript along with next steps based on the conversation.
Google has also added a new theme pack for upcoming Wicked: For good movie, release is scheduled for later this month. Pixel users can now personalize their devices with wallpapers, icons, system sounds and GIFs inspired by the film. There are three styles to choose from: For Good, Glinda and Elphaba.
Google also released blog post Learn more about the additional features coming to Pixel devices this month.
