SO CLOSE TO WHAT??? (deluxe) is released on November 21 and includes the singer’s latest hit “An Eye for an Eye.”
Tate McRae It was a busy weekend. On Friday, the pop star earned her first Grammy nominationfor “Just Keep Watching” from F1 soundtrack. On Saturday, she wrapped up her massive Los Angeles tour and announced a deluxe edition of the album. So close to thatwill be released November 21st on RCA.
SO CLOSE TO WHAT??? (luxury) will feature several new tracks, including McRae's recent hit “Eye for an eye“, which debuted at number three on the Billboard Hot 100. “We had a few more songs I wanted to share with you all to close out the SC2W era,” McRae wrote on Instagram. “I can’t wait for you to hear.”
McRae's Miss Possessive Tour included 83 dates, including three nights at Madison Square Garden in New York City (two dates in Septemberand the third in October). On MTV VMA earlier this year she performed a medley of So close to that cuts out “Sports Car” and “Revolving Door”.
McRae released So close to what her third album will be released in February 2025, and it debuted number one on the Billboard Hot 100, her first record to achieve such success. In an interview with Rolling StoneMcRae said the title comes from “the idea of not being present at times, feeling like you're trying to control everything, feeling like you're perceived by so many people, feeling like I'm 21 and the oldest I've ever felt, but yet so young.”
She added: “At the moment I [asking] “What do I want from life? What do I want to do with my music? How do I want to change something? If people have an opinion on this matter, that's their choice. If I can sleep peacefully at night thinking about what I post, then their opinion doesn't matter.”
