NO BUDGET SURPRISES

Well, I can't say I'm surprised by the Liberal budget. They saddle Canadians with even more debt, and throw us little pennies a crumb or two.

The biggest winners will be Mark Carney, his Brookfield friends and other wealthy business owners. There is little left for the average Joe and we will continue to drown due to lack of funds. Since the luxury tax has been abolished, I'm sure Mark will rush to order a yacht if he doesn't already have one. So people who can afford to pay the tax get another freebie. Thank you, Mark.

There was a lot of blah, blah, blah in this budget and I doubt that what little was promised to taxpayers will actually materialize. It took the Liberals 406 pages to say what could probably be contained in less than half that amount. But this is how they are made… a lot of words that tell us absolutely nothing. Masters of word salads.

Britain warned us not to elect him, but you didn't listen. Now we will pay a big price.

GENERATIONAL BUDGET

The Liberals' budget turned out to be generational.

They added another generation to pay off the debt so we don't have to.

Shame on us.

IT'S TIME BLUE JAYS

I'm quite surprised that there haven't been any letters in the newspapers about the incredible success of the Toronto Blues Jays. In my opinion, if not for bad luck, they would have won the World Series in Game 6. How many times have you ever seen a baseball get stuck under a wall during a game? There should have been two runs scored right there and a completely different outcome of the game.

And then it was disturbing to read that Isaiah Kiner-Falefa received death threats for sliding into home plate rather than running while standing. Do these people mean that they would make a better decision in the heat of the moment, when their adrenaline is pumping and their heart is pounding with excitement? Hardly. Easy to imagine, but not so easy to implement.

I am incredibly proud of our team, which has gone from strength to strength all season and supported each other like brothers in arms.

Things don't always go the way you'd hope, but I'm sure they'll come back next season even more determined to win it all.
