I voted for Trump in 2024. Now I feel betrayed

If the 2024 presidential election were held today, I would miss it. However, I am highly likely to vote in the upcoming 2026 midterm elections and 2028 general election.

A year after the presidential election, I feel completely deceived.

I'm a libertarian who voted yes Donald Trump in 2024, I voted for a Republican for President for the first time because he made an effort to listen and solve our problems. He came to our national conventionpromised to stay away from wars and cut government spending and useless programs with Elon Musk's Department of State Efficiency.

But none of this happened.

The only thing Trump did was pardon the founder of Silk Road. Ross UlbrichtFor which I am very grateful to him, but he completely failed to fulfill all his other promises. Now he's persecuting libertarians like Rep. Thomas Massie and Sen. Rand Paulboth represent Kentucky. Complete betrayal.

I'd like to skip the 2024 elections. But I will vote in 2026.

What DOGE discovered in terms of cuts was great, but immediately after that came One big beautiful bill Take action and continue to pass resolutions that quickly reversed all their progress.

OBBB is one of the largest spending packages in recent US historyfrom a candidate who ran on cutting wasteful spending and is going after Massey and Paul because they admitted what it is. What DOGE tried to do was great, and I support the cost cutting that came as a result, but the fallout from OBBB put a damper on all the progress that had been made. Musk rightly called it abomination.

If the presidential elections were held today – with the same candidates – I would not participate. I wouldn't vote for Chase OliverLibertarian Party presidential candidate in 2024 because he is too left-wing and alienates many libertarians. That's why so many people turned to Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. There was hope that they would want to listen to us, but, unfortunately, this does not happen.

However, I would very much like to vote in the upcoming 2026 midterm elections and 2028 general elections. I feel that I need to do everything possible to ensure that freedom is promoted, including voting for Libertarian Party candidates or candidates who hold libertarian values.
