Now that Halloween has passed us by, I'm looking forward to a quieter weekend. One where I don't have to turn off all the lights and hiss loudly in the dark at the young bullies who come to separate me from my hard-earned Haribo. I will soon need Haribo for energy, since this is the last weekend before moving. Time to fill it with games!

I have a few games to get to. Bloodlines 2 is almost done, so I need to wrap things up. I've got a ton of Halloween games left to play in one frighteningly long sitting (I'm excited about Shipwrecked 64, which I pray would just be Mario 64 if every enemy was that traumatizing piano with teeth). And I want to give Outer Worlds 2 another try, which I've started twice and found myself a little uninterested in both times. Crazy humor doesn't sit right with me right now, but I also think I need to come to terms with the fact that it isn't. Fallout: New Vegasand I, unfortunately, will not have to negotiate with a tyrannical dictator dressed in Roman centurion cosplay.

Maybe I can do my Whiskerwood town thing this weekend. I've almost managed to place all my rodent pioneers and we're having a fun foraging mission in the high hills. Until we were searched. I wonder if it's because everyone is dressed in burlap and smells like coal? I'm trying to penetrate the local gold deposits without attracting the attention of the corsairs.

I bought Arc Raiders the other day and still haven't played it outside of work, but I still can't mentally rule it out. “You've died and lost your shit every game so far,” says the angel on my left shoulder. “Did you like it Final– the devil roars to my right. He looks exactly like Ollie. This is weird.

Those of you who have read these posts are aware of the domestic saga I am currently embroiled in. So this weekend's game is “There's a leak in the kitchen ceiling, can I get Mario or a similar plumber on line.” I know this is a PC gaming site, but damn, I clearly have Koopas in my pipes.

What I'm saying is that I'll be spending the weekend admiring the wide range of games in 2025 ahead of our advent calendar picks. I even installed Diceomancer, Strange Antiquities and Keep driving in recognition of my great intentions. But I'm pretty sure that when I wake up wine-crusted from dinner on Saturday morning, I'm going to head back to Speranza and spend more hours on Arc Raiders.
I wish I could tell you that I'm one of those players who brings out the kindness in humanity, helping strangers and sharing the riches I find on the surface, but last night I ambushed a player moments after he destroyed a swarm of drones. Bad day for them but I got the collar I need to upgrade my chicken collecting garbage.

I regret to inform you all that I finally got around to trying out Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord and it really threw its spears at me. I currently lead a group of about 36 people, I just bought my first business to try and cover my growing daily payroll with some passive income. To be honest, I didn't think running a medieval gang of murderers would require a page on Companies House, but I guess I could carve my financial planning documents onto the corpses of my enemies to keep up appearances.

Between portions of angry whispers on James's shoulder, the Arc Raiders still consume me, body and soul. The quality of my gear is constantly improving, but I still find myself drawn to the familiar, soothing touch of the Ferro starter battle rifle and Rattler AR. What sound design! The Rattler is one of the nicest sounding pistols I can remember shooting. Maintain this level of quality, Embark, and you might start to challenge Hunt: Clashlegendary sound quality.
And you, dear reader, what are you playing this weekend?…
