To say that I am outraged by the recent Supreme Court decision is an understatement. They argue that the mandatory one-year sentence (for accessing or possessing child pornography) is “unconstitutional and cruel and unusual punishment.”
Are they real? Who should they protect? Criminal or child? Isn't punishment designed to deter a criminal from committing a crime again? Slapping the wrist will not achieve this.
Unconstitutional, cruel and unusual punishment was applied to the organizers and participants of the convoy actions. My understanding is that child porn should last at least five years, keeping them off the streets and possibly saving many young children from a lifetime of trauma, both physical and mental.

Access and possession should be a minimum of five years, but the perpetrators of this heinous crime should face a minimum of 20 years.
The Supreme Court should be absolutely ashamed of itself and rethink this massive miscarriage of justice against our most vulnerable populations. If not, then they have shown themselves unworthy of their position.

TIME FOR WUT TO GO
Budget 2025: The government will scrap two high taxes – on planes and ships, and the underutilized housing tax – a one per cent tax on the ownership of empty or underused homes.
Hello Mayor Whatcliffe (sic), what about Vacancy Unit Tax (VUT)? You know, the one where property owners do your staff's work and tax us on empty properties?

It's time to finish off VUT, Mr. Mayor, along with your money-hungry traffic cameras.

IT'S TIME FOR THE ELDERLY TO WAKE UP
The mainstream media has repeated over and over again that Mark Carney is supported by older people.
I am writing this to let them know that this is one elder who does not need himself or the party he represents, and I always vote. Perhaps other older people should wake up and smell the roses.
