One of the men involved in a bizarre Florida pub shooting where a farmer allegedly opened fire over a dispute over how many eggs chickens could lay says the shooter was super paranoid… and misunderstood an honest question.
Tyler McHarg joined us on TMZ Live on Friday and explained how a harmless discussion about laying hens turned into shootings and multiple arrests early Tuesday morning.
Tyler says he was out with friends celebrating his birthday when they met. Peter Riera at Harpers Pub in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Riera is the man the cops say opened fire outside a pub following the argument.
As Tyler tells it…Peter, aka “Farmer P,” was asking them how he could make a little extra money to feed his family.
Farmer P apparently sells his chicken eggs at the farmers market, and Tyler says he asked how many eggs the chickens lay… trying to understand the circumstances to help Farmer P sell his eggs.
Sounds innocent enough, but Tyler says Farmer P took it the wrong way and accused Tyler and Tyler's friends of trying to “deceive him.”
Tyler says Farmer P pointed a gun at them and threatened to shoot… but retreated and then opened fire from across the parking lot… with one bullet whizzing past Tyler's head.
As we reported, the cops showed up and arrested Farmer P and a couple of Tyler's friends.
Florida, man.
