After a six year break Winter dream are back to present their eighth album Wishing the Moonwill be released from March 27 to Dine alone reports.
Today they unveiled a new single, “I Got a Feeling,” which apparently came to the band “late in the pre-recording phase.” You can listen to it below.
They shared the track in a statement:
It was probably the last song we recorded for the album. We were packing up our rehearsal space in Great Village, Nova Scotia, and miraculously managed to fit into another one. It came together immediately. In Pioneertown, the song began to evolve into something more. Our co-writer, Nicolas Vernes, came up with the idea of delaying the main riff until the second verse, which gives it a really unsettling feel, building on that one note until the chorus. This feeling made us shake up the chords in the chorus, which really emphasized and took the tension and energy to the next level. Lyrically, it's centered around this kind of excited anticipation. That moment when you know that someone special you care about also cares about you.
Recorded in the Mojave Desert near Pioneertown at Vernes' studio, the album is said to be “prog, indie, folk and alternative rock bands in full bloom, reaching skyward with grateful, open and curious hearts,” according to press materials.
“A band is always strongest when there's a fundamental rhythm,” said drummer Loel Campbell. “When we walked into the room, I just felt a natural gravity, such impetuousness and relentlessness. There’s a certain meditation to the rhythms.”
