Grand Theft Auto 6 has received another delay that pushes the release of the highly anticipated blockbuster from May 2026 to November 19, 2026. This is the second delay following the original fall 2025 release window.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke to IGN before the company released its latest earnings report. When asked how confident he was in the new November 19, 2026 release date, Zelnick said he was “very confident.”
Zelnick continued, explaining the reason for the latest move: “And at the same time, there were limited circumstances where more time was needed to polish the game and make sure that it was impressive and that that time was well spent. When our competitors enter the market before something is ready, bad things happen.”

When asked about the prospects GTA 6 since its original planned fall 2025 date was delayed, Zelnick responded, “Look, there's always a risk of disruption, and I think as soon as you say words like 'absolutely,' you jinx it,” he added, “So we're very happy with that.”

Studio recently laid off more than 30 employees from its offices in the UK and Canadawhich parent company Take-Two said was “for gross misconduct,” according to Bloomberg. Rockstar Games claims this was due to former employees “distributing and discussing confidential information in a public forum.”
GTA 6 will be released on November 19, 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X and Series S. A PC version has not yet been announced.
