“We create opportunity. We create prosperity. We create wealth for Nassau County families,” Blakeman said. “And that's how you solve the affordability problem: You create an environment where people can achieve more, earn more money, get more benefits and provide for their families better, rather than giving them free things because free things don't improve their overall situation. It just makes them dependent on the government.”

“I told them I would give it serious consideration and I would make a decision after traveling around the state and talking to all these leaders and determining if I wanted to be in the race,” he said. “I feel very strongly that if I enter the race, I will win because we have a winning formula here and we have a base on Long Island.”
