Katy Perry Song “Bandaids” Hints Orlando Bloom Breakup Reason

Katy Perry rushing forward with a new era of music.

Indeed, the “Teenage Dream” singer has released her first new song since news broke over the summer that she and Orlando Bloom had broke up and broke off their engagement, and this track is one of her most vulnerable to date.

In the video for her new song “Bandaids,” released November 6, Katy begins by washing dishes and drops what appears to be a wedding ring into the sink. Reaching out to try to win him back, she hints at her breakup by singing, “Hand to God, I promise I tried / There's no stone left unturned / It's not what you did, it's what you didn't do / You were there, but you weren't there.”

And Katy's honesty didn't end with the song's opening lyrics, as she hinted at the reason for their split.

“I’m so used to you letting me down / There’s no point in sending flowers now,” she continued. “I tell myself you’ll change, but you don’t / Band-Aid on a broken heart.”

While singing, Katie goes through several painful experiences in the video, including an arm injury from a sink garbage disposal and a fall from a tree. But as she notes in her lyrics, pain wasn't the only feeling she experienced during the relationship the song talks about.
