LOS ANGELES (AP) — The first NFL game in Spain will include a Latin music show with Argentine producer Bizarrap and Puerto Rican superstar Daddy Yankee performing at halftime.
Two accomplished artists will take the stage on Nov. 16 when the Washington Commanders take on the Miami Dolphins at Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, the league announced Thursday. This marks Daddy Yankee's return to the stage after retirement and his first live performance with Bizarrap, one of the most listened to producers in the world.
“Having the opportunity to headline the halftime show for the first NFL game in Spain is an honor. Especially next to the legend Daddy Yankee,” Bizarrap said in a statement:
Bizarrap, winner of four Latin Grammy awards and known for his viral song “BZRP Music Sessions,” will debut a new collaboration with Daddy Yankee during the show called “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 0/66″.
Daddy Yankee, long known as the “King of Reggaeton,” said he is eager to return to performing.
“I’m very happy with the music and the incredible track we created together,” he said.
The event continues the league's push to highlight Latino artists at its international games as part of a broader strategy to expand the NFL's cultural and global reach.
During the pre-game performances, the Madrid Marine Group will perform the Spanish national anthem, while vocalist Karina Pasian will perform the US national anthem.
“Through performances at our international games, we have elevated Latino artists around the world. We are very excited to welcome Bizarrap and Daddy Yankee to our first game in Madrid. It will be a celebration of music and culture you won’t want to miss,” said Tim Tubito, Senior Director of Global Game Presentations and Entertainment for the NFL.
