Marks & Spencer has released a new Christmas-flavored food advert starring Dawn French as one of the many stuck in traffic on the way home for a bit of fun.
Okay, that's very cute and all, Victoria, but what does this have to do with Pokemon? After all, Eurogamer is a site about video games (I mean, the clue is in the name). Well, that's because I was watching the M&S coffee trailer this morning and when I turned on the subtitles I was in for a rather fun surprise.

At one point in the trailer, Dawn is holding a plate of food over a mass of people gathered in the back of a very posh M&S food truck, but she's a little unsure of what she's actually holding. The fairy companion then whispers in her ear before Don announces that it is in fact a plate of pork and mushroom pate from Tom Kerridge. How fun!
Except the YouTube subtitles don't quite hear it properly and instead report that the Vicar of Dibley actor is presenting a plate of pate with Pokemon food. I checked on another site with an embedded video and the subtitles were again a bit mixed up, this time instead suggesting Don was holding the tasty Pokemon shoes. Mmm… yummy…
Anyway, I was amused by all of this, so I wanted to bring you some silly Christmas joy on this rather gloomy Thursday afternoon, and I thought I'd share it with you.
When it comes to Pokémon, when they're not being bundled into the back of a truck by hungry and stressed travelers, the latest version of the video game debuted just a couple of weeks ago.
“Lumios City could do with some work, but Pokemon Legends: ZA this is a much more focused and delightfully silly return to better form,” our Chris wrote in Three-star review of Pokémon Legends: ZA from Eurogamer. “At least by modern Pokémon standards.”
